Floral inspiration: Tulsa Art Studio Tour Artist Patrick Gordon

This post is part of our series on Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition's Tulsa Art Studio Tour 2014. A self-guided tour, the Tulsa Art Studio Tour showcases the talent of artists who live and work in Tulsa.Today we are featuring Tour artist Patrick Gordon.

Patrick Gordon has been painting since the age of five. His mother was an artist and would paint with her in her studio. He had his first art show at the age of twelve and opened a gallery by fifteen.

He enjoys working with watercolors because of the precise, exact nature of the medium, but switched to oil paint because he could work much larger with them. He finds inspiration from flowers and most of his pieces or about people.

He wants viewers to feel happiness when looking at his work. Painting is the most fun he can have and he wants people to think he had fun while painting the pieces.

Meet & see the working studio of Gordon along with 13 other artists on April 12-13, noon until 5 pm on the Tulsa Art Studio TourFor more info, or to purchase tickets, visit www.TulsaArtStudioTour.org
